Chef Jun Rey Lopez started his career as student of the Ships Cook Apprenticeship Training Program of renowned Marlow Navigation Ltd. With headquarters in Limassol, Cyprus, Marlow Navigation is one of the world’s top ship and crew management companies with a network spanning more than 10 countries, with approximately 800 shore-based staff and over 14,000 crew onboard vessels. Starting as a cook trainee right after graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and working his way up the ladder, now being a seasoned Chef onboard vessels with 6 years of professional experience under his belt, Chef Jun Rey manages the entire food and beverage operations of a ship, from budgeting and costing to requisitions and procurement, quality control receiving and storing, preparing, cooking, and serving high ranking European officers as well as the practice and implementation of strict HACCP protocols. When not serving onboard vessels, Chef Jun Rey also shares his valuable experience as an Instructor to new prospective cadets under the same program he started in, after making history as the first (former) student of the program who passed the Trainers Methodology Level 1 course of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority of his native Philippines, making him a Nationally Certified Trainor and Assessor.

Currently Chef Jun Rey holds the position of Head Chef in the Marlow Navigation fleet as an active seafarer and concurrently a Faculty/Chef Instructor at United Marine Training Center. His specialization revolves around traditional Filipino and Easter European cuisines.
